Dugan panics, thinking Fury died in a firebombing, but it was just a Life Model Decoy (LMD). Meanwhile, AIM plots to steal S.H.I.E.L.D.’s advanced LMDs, breaking into their base. Fury, aware of AIM's surveillance, fakes his death to escape and turn the tables.
The Ancient One recounts his past with Kaluu, a fellow sorcerer from Kamar-Taj. Centuries ago, they cast a prosperity spell, but Kaluu abused magic for power, leading to a plague that destroyed their village. Kaluu fled dimensions, breaking the Ancient One's stasis. In the present, Kaluu returns after Dormammu's attack on Eternity weakened multiverse barriers. The Ancient One warns Strange of an imminent attack.
